Job Specification:

The NERS supervisor should be at least a university graduated in Health or Nutrition.
Having experience in NERS implementation  is strongly preferred
Minimum of two years of experience working with communities, and community mobilization.
Having at least 2 years experience in management properly management a health project
Medium knowledge in working with Ms office package, mainly excel and PowerPoint
Fluent in English and having a good level of knowledge in report writing in English

Required Core Competencies:

Very good interpersonal communication skills

The candidate must have the ability to work with people of different villages
Ability to work in different working circumstances and hard situations

Duties & Responsibilities

Position Objective:



To regularly monitor/ supervise the NERS facilitators’ activities and make sure the proper implementation of NERS session and other nutrition activities through supporting the NERS facilitators and trainers to effectively facilitate the NERS session and implement community relevant nutrition activities



Core Responsibilities and Duties:



Attend a full course of NERS training at the central or/and provincial level



To develop supervision and monitoring plan for NERS training.



Regular filed visit, monitoring of NERS activities, giving feedback to the supervisees and also report to the regional IHSAN coordinator



Supervise and manage the team of NERS facilitators in his/her related communities of the province as per plan.



To support NERS facilitators to design, conduct and follow up NERS session in their respective communities.



To support and supervise community mobilization for NERS implementation.



Supervise and interact with NERS session members to assess and insure rapid change in the attitude of good child feeding practice.



Facilitate and promote positive deviant behaviors (child nutrition, caring and health )



Develop, maintain and enhance organization relationships with local government officials and other stakeholders to support smooth implementation of NERS program.



Facilitate sessions with communities and realizing the negative hygienic and sanitary behaviors replaced with positive ones.



Facilitate visits to the target communities for the provincial and central level officials.



Establish mutual and good relationship with the Community Development Councils (CDCs) and other influential leaders of the target villages



Provide the provincial supervisor with success stories and photos from the field.



Reporting on regular bases to the line manager/ supervisor



Comply with AKF (Aga Khan Foundation) policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.



Comply with AKF policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.



Respect the target communities cultures, traditions and costumes.

Respect the AKF policies and regulations and practice accordingly



Occasional Significant Duties:



Participation in meetings hold at district level and regional level



Being shifted in the case its necessity is field



Decision – Making & Authority:



Planning of the activities, yearly, monthly and also weekly

Participation in meetings as AKF-Health representative

Selection of target area

Use of appropriate approach for implementation of NERS according its manual
