Candidates must be a high school graduate (14th class). Preference will be given to bachelor degree holder. Diploma in veterinary or animal sciences will be of advantage.
Training in any discipline of animal science or production/poultry science related with poultry extension will be preferred.
At least 3 years work experience for high school graduate, 2 years for diploma and 1 years for Bachelor with female farmer groups/ /community development, preferably in poultry.
Experience in female farmer training is required.
Experience in data collection and reporting is desired
Should have good communication skills especially fluency in local languages (Dari and Pashto), Fluency in English is of advantage.

Duties & Responsibilities
Poultry Assistant (PA) will be based in Kandahar and Helmand, with extensive travelling to NHLP focus districts in the province.The PA is expected to perform the following activities in NHLP under the direct supervision of senior poultry specialist/regional poultry officer.
To work closely with the female poultry producer groups and supervise the activities of IP staff.
Support female farmers via field demonstration and make their capacity to manage birds’ flock using the Farmer Field School Approach.
The poultry assistant will deliver the technical services assigned by the senior poultry officer/regional poultry officer.
Attend meeting and prepare reports, time sheets, work plan as asked by the poultry officer.
Organize on site trainings for female poultry producer groups and female farmers mainly in Farmer filed School (FFS) model. Follow the seasonal calendar for conducting such trainings.
Keep all the record of activities and assist field survey/assessments
Report the activities and progress on meeting vice and monthly basis.
Help to link the Poultry Producer Groups with the service delivery organization such as Veterinary Field Units (VFUs) and suppliers.
It is a filed based position. So, she should be ready to travel to field and monitor all female groups in focus districts.
Conduct filed demonstration and makes its reports.
Liaise with poultry processors/entrepreneurs.
Work closely with other NHLP components.
Coordinate with other partners working in poultry sector.
Any other task assigns by SPS/RPO.
