Work Experience:3-5 Years

The candidate should have at least a bachelor degree in Journalism, Communications, International Relations, Literature or other related areas;
S/he should have at least 3 years of experience (flexible) in the area of communications, media, event management, handling of press conferences.
Excellent knowledge of WordPress, Joomla and MailChimp hosting systems.
S/he should have the skills to operate DSLR video & photography cameras as well as skills in Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office packages. Knowledge of Adobe Premier will be an advantage.
S/he should have excellent written and spoken English and Dari knowledge as well as a grammatically perfect and very good spoken command over Pashto language;
S/he should have previous experience of editing newspaper/magazine stories, writing feature stories, and be very well acquainted with the media outlets and how to handle them.
Holding knowledge of IWA’s background and position in the media is highly preferred

Duties & Responsibilities



The main roles of Communications Officer is to develop, refine and market best quality public outreach content for IWA and one of its partnering organization. The Communications Officer will be responsible to:

Develop content for the promotional materials of events and programs

Manage the content for website, social media and other online platforms

Coordinate the quality and timely design and production of promotional materials

Translate department related documents from English into Dari or Pashto

Conduct daily/weekly and case-specific media monitoring

Assist Multimedia Officer in production of video packages and coverage of events

Provide designing, editing and artistic support as required

Anticipate and act upon any additional communication related needs as they arise or assigned by Communication Manager
