Duties & Responsibilities

Job Summary



The Network Chief Engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, and video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. In addition, the Network Chief Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.   This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training. Establishes and maintains network performance by building net configurations and connections; troubleshooting network problem and Monitoring network engineering performance and ensure system availability and reliability and he should able to do Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.



 



Strategy & Planning



 Collaborate with department heads to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.



 Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.



 Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.



 Acquisition & Deployment



 Design and deploy County LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.



 Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.



 Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.



 Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.



 Design, implement, and maintain VOIP phone system to include phone servers, phones, and faxes



 Design, implement, and maintain Audio/Video systems

Key Duties/Responsibilities:



Design install and support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.



CCIE level hands on experience with the configuration of VRF, BGP, OSPF is a must

Expert knowledge of NEXUS technology.

 Expert knowledge of Cisco Data Solutions  include Nexus platforms

Design, setup and configure complex switching environments

 Expert knowledge of Cisco Wireless technologies

Design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video application

Configuring and installing client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.

Professional Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support

Hands-on experience with load balancing platforms

Install and maintain network hardware and software.

Analyze and isolate issues.

Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.

Evaluate and modify systems performance.

Identify user needs.

Results oriented, team player, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and handle numerous incidents and clients.

Determine network and system requirements.

Ensure network connectivity throughout a MODs LAN/WAN infrastructure.

Design and deploy networks.

Perform IP address assignment (Sub netting and VLSM)

Expert level knowledge of CISCO hierarchical campus design.

Expert level knowledge of optimization of EIGRP.

Expert level knowledge of optimization of BGP.

Expert level knowledge of IPV6

Professional level knowledge of Microsoft Servers.

Professional level knowledge of Microsoft Servers installation, configuration and maintenance

Enough knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange Servers installation, configurations and maintenance.

Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.

Any other duties as assigned by manager
