Afghanistan’s Children A-New Approach (ASCHIANA)

ASCHIANA (Afghanistan’s Children A-New Approach) is an Afghan nonprofit NGO staffed and headed by Afghan nationals and registered in the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, the organization’s mission is to assist the thousands of war-affected, street working children and distressed families in Afghanistan in order to ensure a positive and productive future.

ASCHIANA worked closely with the Juvenile Justice Rehabilitation Center (JRCs) in Afghanistan under a MoU signed with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in 2007. We are currently working in the JRC of Kabul, Herat and Mazar, the largest JRCs in Afghanistan. We have specialized staff with experience in Juvenile Justice and Detention Centers, the program’s aim is to provide sufficient Social, Legal, Educational, Psychological and Recreational support to children in conflict with law based on the national and international child protection standards to be successfully integrated to their families and communities.
