The Afghan Social Marketing Organization (ASMO) is a social marketing and behavioral change communication organization established in August 2008. ASMO as a free-standing, not-for-profit Afghan organization aims to create positive health outcomes by giving Afghan households the information they need to make informed and healthy choices and expanding access to high quality health products through commercial markets.
The USAID funded, Helping Mothers & Children Thrive (HEMAYAT) Project is a five year project (2015-2020) implemented by Jhpiego in collaboration with FHI 360, The Palladium Group and ASMO. The project aims to exponentially increase access to, utilization of and demand for high-quality, gender-sensitive and sustainable Family Planning/ Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (FP/MNCH) services provided by the Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health’s (MoPH) Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and the private sector. This project emphasizes reaching vulnerable populations with high-quality services, especially women, youth and rural Afghans.
