The USAID Resources, Skills and Capacities in Early Grade Reading (ERG) project will collect data and information related to early grade literacy that will facilitate ongoing policy dialogues with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.  This objective will be achieved by collecting reliable and accurate data and information on the number and quality of teaching materials, student reading materials, students’ reading competencies, the factors that impact school management and safety, the educational system’s capacity to address the challenges in early grade reading reform, and the potential for public-private partnerships (PPPs).
