~~Chemonics International Inc. seeks interested candidates for a new project, “Resources, Skills, and Capacities in Early Grade Reading in Afghanistan” (RSC-EGR). This is a twenty-month project beginning immediately. Candidates should be able to begin work immediately or within the next one to two weeks. RSC-EGR will have many goals including: conduct an early grade reading assessment (EGRA) to measure the ability of second and fourth grade students’ to read; complete an inventory of early grade reading materials available in public and CBE schools throughout Afghanistan; assess the capacity of the Ministry of Education (MOE) to implement a nationwide literacy project; undertake a survey on school management effectiveness and safety (SMES); and assess the potential for public-private partnerships (PPPs) designed to improve early grade reading skills.
