About Comfort Aid InternationalCAI is a partnership of individuals working with existing charitable infrastructures to bring relief to poor and destitute Muslims in third world countries in general and India in particular. With three structured projects underway in India, and tree more slated to go live in 2005, CAI touches the lives hundreds of world's poorest people. Whether supporting education, primary health care, or housing with running water and electricity, our programs promote positive and lasting change and reduce long-term dependency.
Apart from humanitarian needs, which are the primary focus, CAI also builds mosques, especially for converts who are displaced and looking to escape religious persecution due to their new faith. This is evident in West Bengal, where the need is of great urgency.
CAI also provides emergency food and shelter to survivors of natural disasters, and Allah forbid, wars and conflicts, if the situation permits. We hope to remain with communities long after initial relief efforts are completed and support initiatives to enable people to rebuild their lives and to face the future with renewed confidence.
