IRC Background
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) began working with Afghan refugee communities in Pakistan in 1980, and first started implementing programs inside Afghanistan in 1988. IRC Afghanistan program is working in 8 provinces including Kabul Main Office; IRC Afghanistan is working in Education, National Solidarity Program and Humanitarians Program
Main Purpose of the Job
The Protection Officer will be responsible for implementation/mainstreaming the protection program in IRC humanitarian project for Internal displaced people, refugees and other vulnerable population affected as a result of human made or natural disaster.  The officer will be liaising with community and assisting assessments and monitoring and evaluation as well overall management and reporting of the protection program in the related provincial office   .   The position is based at IRC provincial offices located in Helmand province and reportable directly to Provincial Humanitarian Program Manager and indirectly to the Protection Manager, Humanitarian Program Coordinator and Deputy Coordinator in IRC country office.
