KfW is Germany’s leading promotional bank, wholly owned by the Government of Germany and the German Federal States. It is one of the major implementing agencies of German Cooperation with Afghanistan. On behalf of the German Government, KfW finances investments and advisory services in development countries, typically in partnership with government institutions, and supported by consultancy companies or NGOs. KfW projects are aimed at economic development, social infrastructure and environmental protection. Areas of cooperation with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan are energy, urban water supply, education, health, transport, economic infrastructure, finance and governance. Currently, KfW seeks to hire a project coordinator for the projects in the focus area of “governance”; other sectors may be covered by the incumbent as seen fit by KfW Country management.
