Shahamat Health and Rehabilitation Organization (SHRO) is a non- governmental national NGO, established in as a response to the emerging needs of Afghan people.
SHRO is working for the field of drug demand reduction including Drug Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation, Reintegration of Drug Addicts (Children, Women, Male and Male and Female Adolescent). Since its establishment have been working in the field of health in different provinces of Afghanistan, Paktika, Kundoz, Ghazni, Kabul, Badakhshan, Herat, Balkh, Takhar, Bamyan, Jawizjan, Farah and Nimroz. SHRO has built up experience through qualified personnel in regards to training of different group of Afghan civil society including Teacher, Police officers, Police Cadets, Journalist, Religious Leaders, Community Leaders, Formers, and school students in different province of Afghanistan.
Since establish SHRO has been run 153 projects in the field of DDR, HR, capacity building and human right. Currently, SHRO are running 19 projects in the field of Drug Demand Reduction and Harm Reduction.
SHRO has worked and still working with different donors agencies. Mostly are GIZ, Counter Part/USAID, England Government, World Bank, CPS/INL, and UNODC.
SHRO is working under rules and regulations of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and registered in 2003 as a legal entity and registered with; Ministry of Economy (MoEco), Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and have Membership with Agency Coordinating Body for Afghan Relief and Development” (ACBAR).
