Duties & Responsibilities
To implement logistics associated with Bamyan Medair vehicle fleet operation, maintenance and repairs and to manage spare parts stock
To implement and monitor logistic processes associated with Medair`s vehicle fleet at the Bamyan support base through activities outlined below.
To uphold Medair values and to contribute to the wellbeing of the team as an active member.
To adhere strictly to Medair National Staff Regulations.
To adhere strictly to Medair Security Plan and the SOPs relevant to this role.
To conduct all Medair activities honestly and to report any issues to the line manager or a member of the Medair management team.
To be flexible and willing to assist in other areas of work as requested by the line manager.
Help ensure the safety of the staff in the field and inform the Manager of any development related to security in the field.
1. Fleet Management
Co-ordinate and oversee the daily movements of the Bamyan vehicles
Manage the Medair fleet in the central highlands, all vehicles, motorbikes and generators
Know and comply with all Medair policies and procedures with regard to fleet management
Work closely with Field Logistics Assistants to ensure effective management of motorbikes and generators
Work closely with drivers to ensure effective vehicle management
Organise the scheduled maintenance (and repair as required) for vehicles in Bamyan
Organise procurement of spare parts for vehicles
Ensure accurate stock management of vehicle spare parts in Bamyan and the field
Submit monthly stock reports for vehicle parts
Oversee the licensing of new vehicles with an external broker as required
Ensure that all paperwork/hard copy files in respect to the Medair fleet are up to date and in good order, including log books and maintenance records
Ensure that the Fleet Cost Follow-up is up to date and submitted to the Logs Manager once a month
2. Drivers and Training
Maintain a personal task manager, adhering to tasks and deadlines
Line manage all Bamyan based drivers
Line manage Project field drivers over winter, in consultation with field project staff
Meet with Bamyan based drivers once a month to provide training and resolve any issues
Organise training for all drivers in the winter months (in consultation with Logistics Manager and Project Support Officer)
Provide support in the recruitment of new drivers
Organise motorbike training for Project staff (in consultation with Logistics Manager and Project Support Officer)
Provide training on vehicles and fleet management for all relevant staff during winter months
3. Other Duties
Follow document maintenance and filing procedures
Any other reasonable duties, as requested by Line Manager
