At least 5 years of relevant experience working in or with a municipal government, particularly with land-use plans, capital improvement plans, local economic development plans, and incorporating private sector participation in service delivery in Afghanistan.
The position reports to the Municipal Team Lead.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Project Management and Engineering Advisor(s) will be responsible for managing the activities in target municipalities in the areas of procurement, engineering and public works, operations and maintenance, solid waste management, use of Geographic Information System (GIS) and IFMS activities in target municipalities. S/he will be physically located in the municipal government offices of Gardiz and will provide mentorship, capacity building training, and other technical assistance as needed to the municipality staff and officials.
OBJECTIVES AND DUTIES:
Provide on-the-job coaching to and mentoring municipal officials working with project management, land-use plans, public works and solid waste management.
