  • The application is open for all eligible women from Afghanistan youth are encouraged to apply or nominate

  • Geographical representation is important. Women from outside of Kabul are encouraged to apply or nominate.  

  • Women with experience in dealing with local dispute and conflict resolution are strongly encouraged to apply. This would be considered as an asset. 

  • Women who have experience in dealing with religious and traditional actors are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • The application is open for all who feel they can offer additional value to the Afghan Peace processes

  • Women who will be able to share the work of the Women’s Core Group more widely outside of traditional networks are also strongly encouraged to apply  



Qualification and Criteria: 



Applicant /nominee recommended possess following criteria : 




  1. Minimum age of 18

  2. Show experience working on women peace and security

  3. Should be willing to be part of the process voluntarily  

  4. Should be active on their own province & have a link with local women 

  5. Connection with local Jirga and Shura would be considered as an asset.

  6. Should be committed to be part of the Women’s Core Group for two years (2020-2021) 

  7. Do not have membership of political parties 

  8. They should have enough time to participate in monthly meetings or other workshops or activities 

  9. Flexible to join meetings at national and international level relevant to peace processes 

  10. Able to travel and take part in events or side events relevant to the peace process in Afghanistan and internationally

  11. Knowledge of English language is preferable but not mandatory strong command of local languages.

30 member– Women’s Core Group for Creating Access for Inclusive Peace in Afghanistan



Cordaid is working in and on fragility and has been active in Afghanistan since 2001. Aiming a stable and peaceful country we are pleased to announce the call for nominations for the Women’s Core Group. The Women’s Core Group will be established through the project “Creating Access for Inclusive Peace in Afghanistan” that is funded by Global Affairs Canada.



Procedure:




  • After reviewing of the CVs by Advisory Group eligible candidates would be contacted and  asked for interview.

  • Successful candidates will be selected as member of  Women’s Core Group.

  • The selection will be based on motivation background and experience to ensure balance and diverse group with the necessary skills.



Role: Members of the Women’s Core Group will  be supported in building up their skills in strategic communications coalition-building advocacy and outreach  and advising on all aspects of the establishment and operationalization to creating access to inclusive peace process. Of course travel costs and other relevant costs to support the work of the core group will be covered. The composition of this group will be determined through a transparent and consultative process and will strive to achieve a broad geographic ethnic and generational representation.



The Women’s Core Group consisting of thirty women  selected to be the primary beneficiaries of the project. Once established the group will receive specialized skill-building and mentoring aimed at strengthening their capacity to serve as strategic highly skilled and credible actors in the peace process. They may receive mentoring and capacity strengthening in a range of areas including strategic planning and scenario building; technical training in issues relevant to the peace process including mediation power-sharing constitutional reform transitional justice and any issues that emerge in the peace process.  Next to that the participants will be supported logistically and through lobby and advocacy to ensure and increase access to the various approaches related to peace process.
