Qualifications and Skills
A widely recognized Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Commerce or relevant filed.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English, Dari and Pashto, both orally and in writing, and able to liaise and establish positive working relationships with various types and levels of staff and students across the Institute.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage a team of staff.
  • Ability to manage time and schedule accurately.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Orientation towards results.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Maintain an ongoing customer focus.
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity at all times.
Experience:
 
  • Three years of work experience in the relevant education field, preferably with international and/or private sector organizations.
  • Experience of managing and working as a member of a team, prioritizing work to achieve tight deadlines in a high-pressure situation.

Duties & Responsibilities


Academic Management:
 
  • Coordinate the Academic Activities of ATVI with different stake holders including private sectors.
  • Facilitate creative changes in educational programming, processes, and procedures.
  •  Develop and implement business plans and make projections for assigned education projects and proposed projects.
  • Help in recruiting faculty staff for the majors offered at ATVI.
  • Work with ATVI Administration Department to develop a sound academic system.
  • Identify best practices in academic management of two year technical institute and make a plan to implement them.
  • Help ATVI achieve accreditation from an international body.
  • Help strengthen the career counseling and placement services provided by ATVI to it’s students.     
  • Implement different levels of the educational and internship system of ATVI.
  • Make sure that the placement of students is done in a timely and professional manner both with the private and public sector institutions.
  • Work with ATVI officials on establishing a recruitment plan of hiring qualified teachers.
  • Introduce a variety of teaching techniques an methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with the accreditation requirements regarding courses, faculty, teaching and examinations.
  • Ensure that the student recruitment and students’ educational orientations are done timely and professionally.
  • Hold bi-weekly meetings with department heads on academic issues and propose solutions.
  • Develop and update academic plan in coordination with department heads and academic office.
Evaluation:
 
  • Regularly assess the quality of instruction and the academic program and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Create and offer a range of professional development activities, programs, conferences & events to inspire support and disseminate best practices in learning, teaching and assessing.
  • Monitor and provide advice for teaching done by international and national teachers.
  • Take regular feedback from the students on their classes.
  • Ensure that a combination of teaching methods used in management and technology schools in developed countries including case studies, management games, group works & simulations are used in ATVI.
  • Provide training to the institute’s management staff in best international practices for academic Administration.
  • Assist in the implementation of the examination system.
  • Develop and implement educational activities, both strategic and operational, including metrics to track and evaluate progress.
  •  Ensure compliance with the regulations and policies of the MoE and DMTVET and requirements of accreditation, including coordinating the educational activities in the NIMA Business Plan.
  • Provide leadership to ensure that ATVI maintains satisfactory academic progress in the areas of attendance, grades, and graduation.
  •  Assist in developing and managing the educational budget.
 
Training and Professional Development:
 
  • Help develop and implement a professional development program for the teachers.
  •  Lead ATVI in program direction, development of goals, and objectives.
  •  Establish and maintain compliance with academic policies and procedures.
  • Improve ATVI institutional structures.
  •  Help in the rationalization of procedures and administration.
  •  Disseminate best practices in Academics.
  • Review and evaluate policy analysis techniques, methods and technology.
  • Conduct institutional interface appraisals.
  • Liaison with the International Partner of ATVI and other governmental departments.
  • Support the education management components.
  • Arrange and host the visits of visiting guest lecturers and Ministry representatives.
  • Network with communities and educational institutions around the country and disseminate the best practices.
  • Research and identify trends and needs and establish program directions accordingly.
  • Help assess the quality of English instruction.
  • Help students transition to working life following graduation from ATVI.
