Qualification:

 

A minimum of Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

 

Work Experience:

Experience of working with international organizations in Afghanistan is preferred.
Experience working on USAID-funded programs is an advantage
Experience of working with gender issues preferred.

 

Other Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Dari or Pashto as appropriate to the municipality assigned.
Highly computer literate, including e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Willingness to work beyond official work hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.

 

Excellent language proficiency in spoken and written English and Dari or Pashto as appropriate to the municipality assigned.

Reporting:

The Admin/Gender and Youth Assistant will be based in Municipal Offices and report to the Municipal Team Lead.

Female candidates will be given preference and are strongly encouraged to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose:



Admin/Gender and Youth Assistant is responsible for integrating gender and youth concerns and issues across the municipality and providing administrative support to the Municipal Offices. The Admin/Gender and Youth Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following detailed tasks:



Objective and Duties:



Assist the Municipal Offices in coordinating  Administration, Finance and Procurement activities;

Maintain office filing system;

Assist and facilitate the staff with official memos and correspondence;

Work with SHAHAR finance department to reconcile Municipal financial issues; 

Schedule and prepare materials for meetings; takes, prepares, and distributes minutes from meetings;

Assist the Asset Controller based in Kabul conduct periodic physical inventory of property in the Municipal Offices, as well as, maintain the prescribed property register;

Serve as point of contact for administration and operation activities of SHAHAR Municipal  Offices;

Assist the Municipal team with events planning, coordination, and implementation;

Assist the Community Outreach Advisor to ensure that outreach activities include efforts to target women, girls and youth;

Assist the Community Outreach Advisor to incorporate gender issues and considerations into training;

Translation of training materials and other documents from either Dari or Pashto to English and vice versa; and

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
