Qualification

Education:(Desirable) Holding a Medical Degree or in Education
Work Experience:At least 5 of experience in related field is Years
Qualification:

(Desirable) Holding a Master Degree in public health Education or a related field with specialized knowledge in the field of Development Studies International Affairs Public Health or Health Economics are preferred.

(Desirable) Holding a Medical Degree or in Education

At least 5 years of experience in related field is required.

Fluency and the ability to write clearly in English and at least one local official language; Pashto or Dari.  (Ideally with language skills in both official local languages)

(Desirable) Prior experience in the field of youth program

Administrative management and organizational skills including time management required.

(Desirable) Exposure to professional or academic training on adolescent and youth issues.

Shows initiative sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds.

Proficiency in computer applications and presentation skills are essential: MS Word MS Excel MS PowerPoint and other etc.


Duties & Responsibilities

Job Summary:



Adolescent and Youth Program Officer is responsible for the overall implementation of UNFPA youth and adolescent health activities within the organization.  He/she will be working in close coordination and collaboration with national stakeholders such as MOPH DMoYA MOE international partners and other related departments within AADA.  He/she will be responsible for supporting UNFPA programmes (particularly youth prgorammes) working under the direct supervision of the AADA Program Manager/Director and in close partnership with the UNFPA Youth Department.



Specific Responsibilities:



Provide programmatic and operational support to youth and adolescent activities including planning coordinating implementing monitoring and reporting.

Identify constraints gaps and success stories during project implementation.

Prepare for regular inputs to status and progress reports. Analyzes factors affecting the achievement of results recommends corrective actions and follows up on recommendations

Keep records of all financial reports projects annual forms and other related reports.

Provide regularly updates on the status of budget expenditure.

Organize manage and prepare briefing documents for meetings with government UN agencies and donors on youth and reproductive health issues.

Contribute and coordinate to ensure the timely preparation of work plans progress reports project presentations (and other similar documents) and correspondence with key partners.

Evaluate Youth project and programme activities establishing and implementing mechanisms to systematically assess the achievement of results

Actively participate and contribute to the youth and reproductive health programs.

Actively participate in meetings inside and outside AADA to address youth and reproductive health programmes and wider issues on these themes.

Support organise and participate in field missions

Meaningfully participate in training provided by AADA donors government officials and media to improve knowledge on relevant thematic areas and highlight Youth and Reproductive Health issues.

Conduct capacity building programs for health facility and government staffs as per national standards.

Conducting supervisory visits from youth and reproductive health programs in Kabul and other provinces.

Analyze and interpret the political social and economic environment relevant to population and development and Youth in Afghanistan and identifies opportunities for AADA and the UNFPA assistance and intervention.

Keep abreast of new policy developments and strategies analyzing policy papers strategy documents national plans and development frameworks.

Any other relevant activities/responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager/Director and CEO.
