Duties & Responsibilities
The purpose of this position is to provide psychosocial support for the displacement affected children through established CFSs in Herat / Badghis IDPs camps. He/she will be responsible for planning designing and implementing the PSS package identifying managing and referring the CP and GBV cases for the available services.
The Duties and responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Assists in developing and maintaining an environment that promotes physical social and emotional development through arts crafts games and other child friendly activities;
Identify the child protection concerns of beneficiaries particularly children referred to the CFS and do the required follow up
Prepare psychosocial assessment and reports to visualize the effectiveness and changes to the beneficiaries.
Take part in weekly meetings to discuss action plan for identified vulnerable children cases. Propose care interventions at children activities’ level that can be easily implemented in the CFS;
Identify vulnerable children and caregivers in need of CFS from the targeted communities;
Identify and refer children and caregivers in need of case management to CP or GBV case management on a regular basis;
Design and implement recreational and psychosocial support (PSS) activities actively involving children (with a strong focus on child’s specific needs and vulnerabilities);
Ensure that children get all necessary support during the activities and that rules and discipline are set up in a positive and constructive way;
Creating and telling some learning and funny stories to promote the growth of children memories and make them laugh and happy;
Prepare activities plan/schedule and arrange materials needed for the activities;
Collect information (attendance sheets questionnaires etc.) and report identified cases of children with specific needs/extremely vulnerable to the social workers;
Attend all required internal and external trainings and meetings;
Develop and submit daily weekly and monthly report to the supervisor.
Complying with child safeguarding and vulnerable adults’ protocols and legislative requirements.
Carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job deemed necessary or as requested by line manager/supervisor.
