Bachelor degree in social business and administrative sciences or human rights law or other related field; specialization or education in Psychology highly preferred
At least 2 – 3 years professional technical experience including 2 years implementing humanitarian protection programs in emergency and conflict contexts;
Experience in emergency settings / conflict areas
Demonstrated experience in capacity building project design and budget management
Strong understanding of protection principles within the Afghanistan context
Strong understanding of Islamic principles and able to provide protection information through Islamic values and ideology.
Possess context sensitivity
Experience in working with and coordinating with the UN donors INGOs and other stakeholders
Strong interpersonal intercultural and communication skills
Excellent analytical and written skills and good computer skills
Fluency in English and local languages
Duties & Responsibilities
Strengthen existing Community Based Child Protection Committees (CBCPCs) in the target areas / districts.
Conduct Protection including child protection trainings to the CBCPCs parent’s teachers and Government departments.
Contribute to creating and spreading key protection messages on children’s rights and wellbeing child marriages child abuse and child labor to raise awareness among the general population through banners campaigns sessions during different prayers in the target communities.
Support in establishing Safe Healing and Learning Space (SHLS) and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) spaces in the schools and communities of the targets districts / provinces.
Work with parents teachers and CBCPCs and community leaders to raise awareness on Child Protection
Support the children enrolled in the SHLS to reintegrate into formal schools
Compile assessment reports on the protection concerns and priorities of the IDP population collected during the protection monitoring activities
Ensure issues and challenges are addressed in a timely and participatory manner by Informing related department and line mangers
Follow up on referrals with relevant child protection actors
Contribute to regular reports development by focusing on Child protection measures and specific activities progress
Organize/actively participate in the Regional and provincial Child Protection meetings workshops trainings and draft minutes and share with Snr. Child Protection Officer
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders including community leaders NGOs community-based organizations and other IRC sectors to enhance cooperation and coordination
Provide support guidance and assistance to Child protection and field staff in all the field offices on Child protection priorities issues and concerns.
Prepare weekly and Monthly Reports
Regular update the protection monitoring Dashboard
Perform other duties as requested
