Duties & Responsibilities
Brief description 1. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. 2. Establishes and maintains computerized records for each client and/or provider account and may maintain logs and ledgers as well as files of correspondence, payment records, and related information. 3. Contacts delinquent client and/or provider accounts by letter or phone in order to discuss legal requirements and/or to make arrangements for deferred payment plans, forbearance agreements, or other feasible options. 4. Researches, reviews, and verifies financial information and makes recommendations concerning disposition of accounts. 5. Provides assistance and on-the-job training to new employees. 6. Prepares reports and correspondence relative to collections, status of accounts, and payment records. 7. Responsible for billing and collection of council tax and Non Domestic Rates 8. Should update customer tax accounts and conduct an annual survey to ensure tax payer’s details are up to date. 9. Have excellent negotiation and customer service skills. You may be responding to general enquires from the public about council tax. 10. Assist and report to the Council Tax Manager and liaise with other companies e.g. Benefits, Financial Services to ensure that everything runs smoothly. 11. Knowledge of local taxation legislation, data protection, Non Domestic Rates and Benefits procedures is desirable. 12. Excellent attention to detail and be computer literate is also required for this role.
