Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Communications Journalism Business Administration Social Sciences or similar field; Minimum 6-10 years relevantwork experience in communications. Comprehensive social media insight and experience. At least 3 years in a managerial and/or senior supervisory capacity.
Demonstrated experience writing high-quality professional reports in English for USAID or other INGOs.
Experience working with international donors USAID preferred.
Knowledge of video production developing and maintaining online video and social media content.
Willingness to travel to field offices as needed and in accordance with the annual work plan.
Undertake other duties and tasks as assigned by Director of Communications.
The Communications Manager will report directly to the COP/DCOP.
Duties & Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities
The Communications Manager under the direct supervision of the Communications Director will provide communications technical support and be experienced in coordinating and development project deliverables that include but not limited to weekly monthly quarterly reports and success stories that conform to USAID guidelines.
S/he will form part of a communications team that includes team members in Kabul and regional offices. S/he will be able to clearly demonstrate past experience that includes gathering and arranging information from different sources and organizing it to compile various USAID reporting requirements. Event management and team coordination experience is essential as is the ability to calmly work to meet tight deadlines. This role requires the ability to travel to regional offices in Afghanistan and on occasion be prepared to complete tasks outside regular working hours.
This position is based in the GRAIN Project Office in Kabul and available only to national applicants.
