Qualification:

Essential Job Functions:
• Manage the report process including collection and translation of information; data analysis; writing and editing weekly monthly quarterly reports; and writing and editing final report in English for the Mission.
• Write in a concise and clear manner a summary of each activity conducted during the week (for weekly reports only) and connect it with the Program Results Framework to ensure it is relevant.
• Monitor Program activities to ensure that they are carried out within a set timeframe and that expected outputs are completed according to Program quality-standards.
• Collects organizes and compiles field data into a series of reports that are distributed on a timely basis to USAID and Blumont HQ;
• Assist the program in preparing briefings and urgent reporting requests from the Mission (to include fact sheets and state profiles).
• Assist in the organization reporting and the writing of Program success stories (journalistic-type articles written to highlight achievements in non-technical language.
• Builds a strong relationship and works closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation Director and USAID Country Directors to ensure validity of field data;
• Builds a strong relationship with local and international partners field senior managers Team Leaders and Coordinators to ensure timely collection of data;
• Assists in the creating and updating of USAID presentations and promotional materials that showcase the program and highlights accomplishments;
• Utilizes IT applications to extract and present relevant data elements including MS Word Excel and Power Point;
• Provides outreach to media to place stories or respond to coverage of USAID in the media.
• Monitors media reports for news that directly is of interest to USAID
• Manage the report process including collection and translation of information; data analysis; writing and editing weekly monthly quarterly reports; and writing and editing final report in English for the Mission.
• Coordinate with the M&E database manager the technical leaders and their assistants for the collection of information for report writing.
• Analyze information obtained and ensure it is sufficient to produce reports that meet USAID requirements and templates as well as relevant for the achievement of Program results as per the Results Framework.
• Review reports and background information from Blumont -USAID sub-contractors or sub-grantees partners from the government and judicial sector and civil society organizations in order to be better informed on program results for better reporting.
• Make recommendations for additional analysis data or relevant information to be included in the reports and other M&E products.
• Any other related task assigned by the CoP.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Mastery of spoken and written English;
• ability to edit text into concise language appropriate for reports and presentations.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to deliver reports according to requirements and strict deadlines.
• Strong skills in graphical presentation of data with specific knowledge of and experience with databases; computer skills (Word Excel Microsoft Publisher PowerPoint etc.).

Preferred Skills & Experience:
• Master’s degree in international affairs or related field; a communications degree.
• USAID-funded program experience.
• Experience in use of social media and other internet-based outreach.

Duties & Responsibilities

Blumont is seeking candidates for position of Communications Specialist to perform the following functions of Reporting & Media Officer has primary responsibility for providing accurate and reliable reports that depict the project’s status activities accomplishments and challenges. The Communications Specialist is responsible for collecting and examining data from weekly field reports and compiling it into a series of reports for distribution to USAID and other stakeholders.
