The ideal candidate will have the following education work experience skills and qualities:



 



1.    Bachelor degree on social science or related field.



2.    Minimum 2 years of experience in DRR.



3.    Good written and oral proficiency in English language and Dari.



4.    Computer literate



5.    Ability to travel within project coverage district and other provinces as needed.



 



EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:



Essential



 



Able to communicate in local languages 



b.    Ability to articulate ideas in a clear manner



c.    Proven administration skills



 



Desirable



1.    Physical fitness for travel to difficult terrain and willingness for sustained fieldwork.



2.    Familiarity with northern provinces especially Sar-i-Pul province will be an advantageous



Previous experience of working for an NGO at field level will be highly desirable


Duties & Responsibilities

Job Purpose



 



The central role of this job holder is to ensure sound technical quality of all disaster risk reduction activities and supporting the participation of children and adult in preparedness mitigation and response initiatives under SIDA funded project this will include through analysis of local disaster risk and regular visit to project sites to support and simulate communities to plan and consider how they can mitigate the impact of disaster and mobilize resources to implement mitigation plan.



 



 



Key Accountabilities



 



Establishing and maintaining linkages strong linkage with the community based structures as well as local government.

Support the MEAL unit to generate qualitative and quantitative data to document milestones of project progress and submit to the Project coordinator on monthly basis

Assist the MEAL unit for conducting regular monitoring and reporting.

Keep the Project coordinator updated on the progress of the project and any issues that may arise during the course of the implementation that need Project coordinators’ attention

Update the Project coordinator and security officer on any information related to security and follow security instructions of the organisation strictly.

On regular basis collect district data of program activities review and check to ensure that all information is correct and adequate

Compile district data and information into agreed system and files so that they are readily available and accessible for reports.

Support community in establishing and organizing community based disaster management committee.

Plan and implement training activities for community based structures and local government partners using latest disaster risk reduction best practices.

Plan and implement training activities for school based structures and school teachers using latest disaster risk reduction best practices.

Organize disaster simulation activities in the field in coordination with CDMC and local government.

Conduct participatory HVCA in community to prepare risk/ hazard map ensuring the participation of children.

Support community based disaster management committee in developing community based disaster preparedness and response plan.

Support school management committee in developing school based disaster preparedness and response plan.

Plan and carry out disaster awareness and simulations in project coverage schools

Develop weekly activity work plan and report for community mobilizers and him/her self.

Develop case studies / success stories from project activities for the purpose of donor and policy decision makers.

Any other related task assigned by the Project coordinator or senior management of SCI.
