Qualification:

• Good socio- economic/political and geographical knowledge about Afghanistan.

• Good command of written and spoken English Pashto and Dari languages.

• Computer skills including Microsoft office.

 


Duties & Responsibilities

~~PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT

 Contributes to analysing the security socioeconomic cultural and political environment as it relates to the ICRC in AFC AoR areas.

 Based on an analysis of EcoSec core components (food consumption/production living conditions income support and capacity-building) in coordination with EcoSec team leader identifies best response options and assesses whether cash or in-kind aid is more appropriate and feasible.

 Ensures that proper methods planning implementation logistics and reporting are used during aid distribution and can explain them.

 Lead to design implementation monitoring and evaluation of the EcoSec programme in the AFC region in coordination with EcoSec team leader and ensure related financial and human resources especially for community-based livelihoods diversified livelihoods to vulnerable people financial and material assistance to affected people.

 Collaborate and build synergies actively with other ICRC divisions (e.g. Health Water and Habitat Protection Movement Cooperation Communications Logistics ICT and Finance and Administration) to implement the EcoSec programme in his/her AoR in coordination with EcoSec team leader.

 Ensures that the EcoSec programme is prepared for crises and can respond efficiently; integrates cross-cutting issues at all stages such as context-specific vulnerabilities nutrition and accountability to beneficiaries; applies a risk-management approach in close coordination or in direction of EcoSec team leader in AFC.

 Participates in monitoring and evaluation of all EcoSec activities conducted in AFC AoR.

 Provide constructive feedback related to the programme and ensure effective integration of the agreed changes and reviews recommendations;

 Participates in programme review meetings with partners and provide guidance when required.

 Prepares financial forecast in coordination with field team and administration in AFC.

 Assists EcoSec team leader to identify the partners and build partnership in accordance to delegation and EcoSec strategy of the country in AFC AoRs.

INSTITUTIONAL REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION

 Contributes in coordination with EcoSec team leader to key strategy planning and reporting documents for the EcoSec programme (strategic and operational plans and quarterly reports).

 Prepares field visit reports minutes of meetings and other documents related to EcoSec activities when required.

 Contributes to the weekly operational report (WOR) bi-annual field report (BFR) and other institutional reporting;

 Follow up reporting statistic with colleagues and ensure right reporting is shared.

COOPERATION WITH NATIONAL SOCIETY AND PARTNERS

 Participates joint assessments/field visits and programme implementation with NS and/or partner organisations in AFC AoR for partnership programme in coordination with EcoSec team leader.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

 Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments

 Is aware of the delegation’s objectives and has a good knowledge of the Movement and other contacts relevant to the position

 Collects and shares information to improve the ICRC’s understanding of the environment and humanitarian trends and responses

 Represents the ICRC in an appropriate way during activities in meetings and in the field and avoids any activity that may reflect negatively on the ICRC’s image

 Takes responsibility for their own professional learning and development
