Duties & Responsibilities
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The EiE Project Manager will be based in Maimana (Faryab) and will be responsible for the management and implementation of the EiE project (under the supervision of the National Program and Provincial Coordinators). Specific duties and responsibilities are outlined below. The EiE Project Manager will work closely with the program and operations staff in the Faryab Provincial office and NAC Education staff.
Ensure strong Project Management and timely and quality implementation for the EiE project activities.
Ensure budget planning monitoring and follow up (including preparation and updating of the expense plan monthly reporting and cash requests)
Ensure adherence to the Project Work Plan and develop Monthly work-plans
To liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders in Faryab Province (including communities NGOs partners government departments and UN agencies)
Participate in working group meetings as required
Ensure that all EiE project staff adhere to NAC policies procedures and practices
Ensure compliance with NAC donor partner and national requirements
Line management responsibility for Project Officer(s) in accordance with NAC policies and procedures
In coordination with NAC Human Resources (HR) ensure that HR policies and procedures are documented disseminated and consistently applied across the project.
In close coordination with the Provincial Coordinator Security Officer and project staff oversee the day-to-day safety and security of project staff assets premises and the project’s beneficiaries
Ensure accountability to the affected populations through follow up of targeted schools and communities in cooperation with NAC M&E staff
Responsible for the establishment and follow up of the Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) under the project
Support Project Officer(s) and project staff in project implementation and quality assurance through regular field visits to the targeted districts and schools.
Work in collaboration with NAC M&E staff to ensure appropriate M&E systems are maintained and program implementation is consistently documented and reported in line with NAC standards and donor/partner requirements.
Ensure timely reporting as required/requested from donor and NAC Country Office
To be a trainer in the teacher trainings under the project trainings for the project’s community mobilizers and for training of School Management Shuras
To be responsible for leading needs assessments and monitoring processes as needed and required (by NAC partner and/or donor)
To closely follow up communities teachers community mobilizers and School Shuras in the three targeted districts for the EiE project (including cooperation with NAC Security Officer)
Lead with commitment integrity and accountability to the NAC vision
Facilitate field visits for donors partners NAC staff and other visitors as required
Ensure achievement of the project as outlined in the project proposal
Ensure documentation of meetings and project activities
To perform other duties as assigned
Ensure in a professional efficient and effective manner the execution of the tasks outlined in this ToR
Respect and defend the values and principles of NAC
Contribute to NAC knowledge-sharing and documentation
Maintain open and professional relations with team members promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
