University degree Teacher Training faculties management computer science or any other social field with experience or additional achievements in education and social services.
Minimum 2 years practical field and technical experience in monitoring evaluation and supervision preferably in education sector.
Able and willing to travel all the sites within the assigned district(s).
Very good communication skill in local languages and English language.
Basic computer spread sheet knowledge required.
Strong interpersonal and community mobilization skill ability to work with people of the different ethnicities and cultures of the local rural communities.
Community mobilization skill and ability to urge convince people on the benefits of the education.
Ability to work with people in rural areas and provide feedback and elaborate the students learning and capacity improvement
Monitoring and Reporting skills
Duties & Responsibilities
The Education Program Monitoring Extenders (EPME) Technical Extenders (TE) will have the responsibility to monitor and supervise provincial district and community level public schools private schools and CBE/ALP to make sure that they are functioning well community members students and parents are satisfied from the quality of education services. The EPME will work independently as well as in coordination with academic supervision provincial unit. The EPME are expected to spend 90% of their time in field and 10% at central level for taken instruction and guidance from AS general directorate.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor all education center including public and provide schools CBE and ALP classes in the assigned provinces and districts with coordination of Head of provincial academic supervision.
Monitor implementation of UNICEF rolling plan different components and its impact on access to education education quality and transparency.
Ensure the CBE/ALP/ECD is linked to the hub schools in the districts through physical check and reviewing its documents.
Check books delivery to schools and make sure its distributed to students
Make sure the TLM is supplied on time to school and fully distributed to all students
Check attendance of teachers and their availability according to their time table as well as students presence.
Make sure that CBE and ALP are established in area where the children do not have access to public schools and the location for CBE and ALP are coordinated with DED and supervision team.
Make sure that school management shura are established and functioning well in mobilizing community people to participate in decision making and social monitoring of the schools.
Check school visits of supervision team from schools and make sure they did clinical supervision and provide technical guidance to teachers head of department and school principle.
Check from construction projects and make sure that contractors fulfill their work according to plan.
Prepare each visit and monthly report and submitted to PED General directorate to academic supervision and UNICEF office.
Check and monitor the Education in Emergency programs
Monitor the dormitories in the provinces
Check the textbook warehouses for availability of the books
Monitor availability of the school facilities sanitation safe drinking water boundary wall of the girls’ school etc.
Perform other duties assigned from AS general directorate and UNICEF office
