Duties & Responsibilities


The Environmental Compliance Assistant will provide support to the Environmental Compliance Team in varies administrative and technical environmental activities under the direct supervision of Environmental Compliance Officer. The Environmental Compliance Assistant will work with the team to support the implementation of project activities ensuring compliance with the USAID Environmental 22 CFR 216 Regulations and Afghan Environmental Laws.  


Objectives and Duties:


Assist the Environmental Compliance Officer to process the environmental compliance documentation for each activity to be implemented by RADP-North partners and beneficiaries. This includes conducting the screening of each activity in light of the environmental compliance and to determine the recommended Environmental Determination and the Subproject Risk Categorization.

Support the Environmental Compliance Officer in preparing all Environmental Documentation Forms required during each activity cycle. Assist the Environmental Compliance Officer in implementation of the USAID Project Environmental Compliance System utilizing clearly defined objectives activities indicators and results for each component in the implementation period.

Help the Environmental Compliance Officer to conduct training on environmental requirement of each activity for implementing partners/grantees.  

Assist to ensure that RADP-North implemented activities follow the USAID Afghanistan Mission-wide Programmatic PERSUAP for safe use of pesticides.  

Support the Environmental Compliance team to provide training to technical team on the revised PERSUAP 2016 updates.

Support the team with any filing printing copying and scanning needs.

Maintain data on the TAMIS for all environmental compliance reviews and approvals.

Conduct field visits to monitor the ongoing activities implementation to be in compliance with the environmental mitigation measures and collect required information and data.

Review check and record all environmental monitoring forms submitted by RADP-North technical team for ongoing activities of 2016.

Act as a support staff for other related field visits required for the project.

Complete and update the Environmental Compliance files for all RADP-N activities

Perform other job related tasks assigned time to time by respective supervisor(s).         


The Environmental Compliance Assistant will report to the Environmental Compliance Officer.
