Work Experience:Minimum of 4 relevant experience Years

Bachelor degree with 4 years relevant experience

University Degree in Environmental Science Natural Resource Management Agriculture Gender development studies and Economics

Ability to prepare various operational plans of the organization or project.

Having specific skills in the related technical field.

Fluency in written and spoken Pashto Dari and English;

Good computer skills and usage of Microsoft Office packages;

Proven experience in report writing and good office administration skills.

Experience in carpet value chain and income generating projects will be as asset.

Ability to build and sustain effective work relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve common goals.

Willingness and ability to travel to the rural areas and provinces when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of Program Manager ESS officer will be fulfilling all ESS gender and some communication related tasks. She will undertake the following tasks:


Conduct field visits to provide ESS and ED trainings to female beneficiaries in carpet sector.

Advise provincial staff especially the operation officers to comply with ESS principles while providing ESS and ED trainings to beneficiaries.

Prepare strategy on addressing child labor issues in carpet sector.

Monitor implementation of environmental and social safeguards in carpet value chain.

Conduct field visits to provide community consultation gender mainstreaming and women consultation on environmental social and gender aspects.

Raise the social and economic awareness among project beneficiaries to produce carpets link with markets and move out of poverty.

Identify successful practices in the program activities that can be showcased in publications communication materials and conferences.

With the support of Program Manager perform communication related tasks when required.

Close coordination with project stakeholders

Provide reports on regular basis to Program Manager about ESS related activities.

Perform any other task assigned by the Program Manager.
