Finance Manager Skills and Qualifications:

Advanced degree in accounting business economics finance or a related field; at least 2 years of experience in a senior financial role; excellent mathematical skills; leadership skills and experience; employee management; understanding of data privacy standards; budget development; solid communication skills in English beside local languages is essential for reporting and liaising with donors; problem-solving skills; computer skills; multi-tasking abilities; integrity honesty.

Duties & Responsibilities

Position Description:

Reporting to the Executive Director the Finance Manager leads all day-to-day accounting operations with functional responsibility for accounting accounts payable payroll and grants administration. Responsibilities also include production of financial reports; proper maintenance of accounting records; accurate processing of financial transactions; and administration of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk enhance the accuracy of the organization’s financial reports ensuring Tax payment and clearance from relevant Tax department in compliances to Afghanistan NGO law.

Finance Manager Job Duties:

Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the organization such as payroll invoicing and other transactions

Oversee financial department employees including financial officers and accountants in province and Kabul

Oversee tax preparation auditing banking and other financial needs as necessary

Track the organization’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement

Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the organization

Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making

Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports

Present financial reports to board members stakeholders and executives in formal meetings

Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes

Ensure and review accuracy of QB entries according to budget codes and vouchers

Review and make sure bank reconciliations prepared timely

Responsible to make sure taxes paid timely as Tax Law of Islamic Republic of officers Afghanistan 

Ensure compliances of organization procedures and practices according to organization policies and procedures

Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

Developing and Managing budget with relevant staff
