Education:bachelors degree in social science or related field
Work Experience:5 year Years

Educational / Professional Background & experience:

Graduate from social science faculty form recognized university.  

Minimum 5 years of experience in security and access sector in the international humanitarian field in Afghanistan.

Good reporting skills

Ability to negotiate with different stakeholders and armed groups.

Ability and willingness to travel to field offices/flying team project locations at short notice and in sometimes-difficult circumstances.

Committed to Humanitarian principles

Fluency in written and spoken Dari Pashtu and English.

Excellent Computer skills: Word Excel Power Point outlook/typing and presentation skills

Duties & Responsibilities


Missions 1:  Regular visits from flying team projects location and support AAH Afghanistan mission by daily security management to ensure staff safety

Conduction of pre-deployment assessment in the selected provinces/districts for flying team across the country.

Regular field visit from flying team provinces to monitor the security situation

 Provide reports to line managers after completion of visits from field.

Briefing and debriefing flying team on security matters

Identify training needs and conduct trainings for flying staff in line with AAH’s Access Strategy

Conduct briefing of new AAH employees within the flying team

Provide input to the design of each project for flying teams in coordination with HAS HoD and FFC.

Provide advice and recommendations to flying teams in order to mitigate the risks for Flying teams’ in areas’ of interventions.

Collaborative identfy risks with staff and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are in place.

Monitor the security preparedness of country staff and enforce staff compliance with internal security rules and SOPs ensuring they are communicated to all staff and understood

Carry out security assessments of new facilities to ensure a standard level of facilities protection

Mission 2: Ensure the implementing (and revision if necessary) of the AAH Access Strategy of flying areas of intervention supporting the delivery of the identified strategic priorities.

Lead or provide strategic and operational advice and guidance to the AAH flying team in relation to access negotiations across Afghanistan

Provide input to the AAH humanitarian access strategy and support developing area specific access strategies with Flying Field Coordinator and HAS team.

Engage in humanitarian negotiations with relevant groups to enable program access.

Mission 3: Collect analyze and convey information about the political and security situation as well as context changes.

Collecting and recording information related to security and context changes

Provide in depth contextual analysis to the flying team in coordination with HAS department.

Produce overall analysis/relevant data and conduct assessments in a systemic way based on discussions with the Field team and Coordination team.

Develop and update AAH flying team’s access maps which includes field-based and updated understanding of the political social security and humanitarian situation.

Develop and update AAH flying  stakeholder map per provinces

Regularly visit the areas of flying team intervention

Participate in security meetings with different stakeholders.

Convey every necessary piece of information and analysis to the FFC and HAS HoD.

Produce reporting on contextual and security changes

Mission 4: Evaluate and monitor the risks.

Monitor and follow up on the implementation of mitigation measures / procedures

Managing security incidents on base level with support from HAS HoD and flying FC including ensuring incident reports are submitted and followed up.

Following a security incident monitor and implement the actions decided.

Mission 5: Expand and maintain AAH’s network of relevant contacts inside Afghanistan.

Promote learning and sharing of best practice in obtaining humanitarian access amongst national and international humanitarian community

Develop AAH network among the different stakeholders and keep it up to date

Build strong professional relationships with UN agencies local authorities other NGO’s (local and international) and all relevant stakeholders

Keep updated the contact list from all relevant persons/parties under flying areas of interventions.
