Qualifications:

University degree in gender agriculture economics political science sociology or other relevant academic discipline.

·        At least 5 years of relevant work experience of which at least 3 years in the fields of gender and/ or agriculture development.

Substantial knowledge of gender women’s rights and gender mainstreaming.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
Working experience at regional and provincial level prior work experience with the relevant governmental entities preferred.
Knowledge of MS Office Package and Internet is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

General Objective:



The purpose of the Gender Outreach Specialist is to support the gender activities within the RADP-N project. The gender outreach specialist will be based in Mazar-e-Sharif and required to frequently travel into RADP-N targeted provinces (Badakhshan Kundoz Baghlan Samangan and Jawzjan).



 



Tasks:



Work closely with the Gender Manager Technical Project Team and project implementing partners to provide technical assistance in integrating gender into project activities.

Collaborate on the implementation of RADP-N’s year five annual work plan to effectively include gender in all project activities.

Plan implement and report on project efforts to overcome barriers to women’s participation in the agriculture economy.

Coordinate and collaborate with relevant line departments such as DAIL DoWA on gender related interventions.

Establish and maintain contacts with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders on gender related issues.

Work closely with M&E Department to review activity monitoring forms.

Work closely with Communications Department on gender-related publications.

Other duties as assigned by the Gender Manager.



Reporting:



The Gender Outreach Specialist will report to the Gender Manager.
