  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related social-science field preferred. 

  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience working with non-profit organizations (NGO)’s with international NGO experience preferred. 

  • Experience using basic word processing and data software (MS Word Excel etc.)

  • Previous experience working as gender trainer and/or on protection projects with a strong programmatic focus on the rights of women and girls.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required with the capability and willingness to travel within provinces.

  • Excellent spoken and written English and Dari with Pashto an advantage

Duties & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Gender trainers will ensure that gender is appropriately integrated into Asset Creation (Food/ CBT) projects. She/he will be responsible for establishing effective gender mainstreaming in all program design and implementation. She/he will also review program activities to ensure inclusion of gender sensitive issues. The trainers will work with the program department and M&E to ensure that gender equity principles are incorporated into all policies and activities. She/he will also plan to follow up on gender-related activities and provide support to project staff on mainstreaming gender on projects including design and implementation on gender-related issues.

Job Requirements:

  • Conduct a gender analysis in targeted districts.

  • Develop and implement a clear and comprehensive action plan for gender activities.

  • Design and implement trainings on gender related topics including gender awareness in line with gender policy of the donor.

  • Ensure gender integration in the day-to-day activities from design to implementation.

  • She/he will work with M&E Department to ensure gender indicators are fully incorporated in the project.

  • Provision of training materials to be conducted to the beneficiaries.

  • Represent SFL on gender-related events (meeting workshops conferences etc.) in Takhar and Badakhshan.

  • Monitor gender progress and gaps on regular basis within the programs and proactively seek to guide and support programs in addressing gaps and challenges.

  • Develop and share monthly and quarterly report on regular basis.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by program leadership.
