  • Bachelor’s in GIS Technology Geomatics or Geo Science
  • 5 years of Professional experience
  • Ability to work with GIS softwires
  • Establish and build effective working relationships with staff and partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package especially Excel Outlook PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent language proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel to provinces as per project requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collect and create GIS data required for the project interventions in the target cities (Kabul Herat Mazar-e-Sharif Jalalabad Kunduz and Kandahar);
  •  Digitize and create new thematic layers using scanned maps satellite images and GIS data;
  • Create and regularly update a database and library of spatial and non-spatial data for all project cities;
  • Develop required maps for field data collection;
  • Support in the development of an open access web-based platform and upload all collected data related to city sanitation planning in each stage of the project to the platform.
  • Produce following maps for the project interventions;
    1. Land use map and base map
    2. location of ground water resources (groundwater surface water and artificial water storage/reservoirs) and water supply distribution networks;
    3. Roads map and contour map;
    4. Map for showing sanitation facilities across sanitation chain (user interface containment emptying transport/conveyance treatment disposal and reuse);
    5. Storm water drainage network;
  • Any other relevant tasks.
