This position is based in Kandahar Districts. Travel will be required throughout the districts and Kandahar City. Travel from home to the Medair base is the responsibility of the person hired. All travel on Medair business throughout the city and districts is paid for by Medair.
Work week consist of 5 days of work
Summer working hours (1 March – 31 October): 7.00AM – 4.00PM Winter working hours (1 November – 28 February): 7.30AM – 4 PM
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible to carry out many different nutrition team related tasks as assigned by the Nutrition Supervisor
Responsible for facilitating and participating in mobile outreach team work including mobile team preparation and follow-up
Responsible for delivering nutrition education as requested
Rotate with other mobile nutrition team members through 9 locations in assigned area.
Assist the nurse / team leader in screening and admitting beneficiaries into the nutrition program according to guidelines.
Assist the nurse / Nutrition Supervisor in examining and treating malnourished children under 5 and pregnant and lactating women according to guidelines.
Provide accurate records, documents and reports as required
Assist in monitoring and follow-up of beneficiaries at village level as requested in coordination with local staff
Assist in food distribution
Provide nutrition education to beneficiaries as requested
Assist in ensuring safety and security of all team members as well as all Medair equipment and program supplies.
Be flexible and willing to assist in other areas of work as requested
