Duties & Responsibilities
Position in the organisational chart:
The Hygiene Promotion Officer will be under the direct supervision of the Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion supervisor
2. Main objective of the position
In the framework of the “Emergency WASH assistance to drought-affected population of Kunduz province in Khanabad and Chardarah districts” under the supervision of the Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Supervisor the Hygiene Promotion Officer is in charge of sensitization activities.
He/ She will organize manage and implement hygiene kits distribution and Hygiene promotion sessions in villages according to Solidarités International procedures and standards.
3. Specific Tasks of the position
Under the responsibility of the sanitation and hygiene promotion supervisor conduct sensitization activities with beneficiaries:
- using Solidarités International resources
- sending messages determined by Programme Manager /supervisor
- adapting methods to the different populations
Participate to public events planning and organisation
Participate in the logistical and administrative organization planning and preparation of field operations.
- Identify local resources capable of helping in the preparation and accomplishment of the activities of Solidarités International
- Remain in touch with the population and local authorities to understand needs complaints and major events that may have an impact on the activities of Solidarités International.
Apply safety & security procedures in field operations
Present the population and local authorities under supervision of Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Supervisor with the nature of field operations
Helping identify and train key persons regarding the sensitization themes
Participate to the creation of Information-Education-Communication materials
Participate to surveys upon Programme Manager request in link with WaSH programs
Monitor and distribute sensitization activity reports
Keep monitoring tools and files archived at the Solidarités International office ensuring their availability to Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Supervisor and Programme Manager
Archive censuses and lists of beneficiaries
Report to the Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion supervisor on the progress of activities and specific tasks assigned problems encountered the quality of relations with beneficiaries
Pass on any information or problems concerning her/ his tasks Solidarités International programs or safety aspects
Act as a liaison with the local population and authorities in order to identify the needs grievances and major events that could have potential consequences for Solidarités International activity
Analyse the humanitarian situation taking protection problems into consideration/Do no Harm to the population
Collaborate with local administration and authorities
