Bachelor degree in Law / Sharia Law

Being member of Afghanistan Independent Bar Association (AIBA)

Total work experience (4 year) with government/NGOs

Having experience of Defense Lawyer at least (2 years)

Expertise in capacity building training supervising and supporting local partners

Good in written and verbal English with strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 

Dari or Pashtu is mandatory

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities



Legal Aid Services/ Supporting Children in Abuse/Community Awareness   (50%)



Represent clients (Children in Abuse) ethically and zealously in courts of law and ensure through training and coaching that all HRDA/WCC representatives also represent clients in a similar manner

Support Protection Manager so that all legal trainings are adapted for the Afghanistan context and that all legal education and trainings are conducted according to HRDA/WCC quality standards.

Support DRL-SPEAC team M&E team and other relevant staff so that there is full participation by legal partners and stakeholders in project implementation and M&E activities.

Facilitate Alternative Dispute Resolution methods (e.g. mediation) and that there is proper follow-up and compliance to any ADR agreements.

Work with Protection Manger  and senior officer on providing case studies and to facilitate legal and human rights awareness radio programs

Ensure that yearly capacity building plan for community and other stakeholders are developed and implemented together with program.

Regular meetings with CSOs Religious leaders Shura-e-Ulama and community elders to orient them on CRC and child protection issues.

Conduct regular visits to field address issues and provide timely support

Provide technical assistance to other programs as requested



 Occasional Significant Duties/Coordination/Cooperation (30%)



Identify new programming needs and contribute to new project concept development as requested. 

Coordinate with relevant Department (s) as needed to ensure coordination and collaboration on project-related sector activities.

Build and maintain trusted and effective relationship and coordination with stakeholders.

Work with other NGOs and UN agencies to strengthen direct and related project activities/initiatives – including referrals.

Support the Protection Manager/Senior officer on developing training packages manuals handouts and presentations which needed for justice training and community education purpose.

Ensure that all legal trainings are adapted for the Afghanistan context and that all legal education and trainings are conducted according to HRDA/WCC quality standards.

Establish contact with relevant justice organs and formal schools and communicate to invite officials school teacher and students to participate in justice trainings.

Conduct legal trainings for legal actors police and etc… on CRC Child Rights and Trafficking in Person Law.

Provide weekly monthly and quarterly plans according to the project Work Plan for better implementation of the project activities.

Provide technical assistance to other programs as per need.

Attend in regular legal team meetings and ensure effective communication within the team for improvement of the project progress activities and implementation

Identify new programming needs and contribute to new project concept development as requested

Organize regular legal team meetings and ensure effective communication within the programs and among other sectors/projects. Ensure to support the program team on developing needed tools exchanging knowledge and work to build their capacity.

Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor that are within the general scope of the described responsibilities. 



Documentation Reporting and Learning (20%):



Maintain all the project related documents on regular bases.

Assess the existing tools and check list and suggest further improvement.

Prepare and submit reports to Justice Manager/Head of Program. Implementation relating to project implementation & partners assessment.

Proactively participate in professional development activities with strong commitment of learning knowledge and skills.
