  • At least 3-4 year experience in Teaching Teachers Training and academic support to the MoE institutions preferably in NGOs.

  • Sufficient experience in capacity development including training needs assessment planning and academic follow up.

  • Enough required capacity in planning and reporting activities for project level assignments.


  • Fluency in both official languages Dari and Pashto written and spoken as well as reporting capacity in English language will an asset.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Demonstrated skills in capacity development training needs assessment & evaluation and monitoring.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to support colleagues and provide/receive constructive feedback

  • Be ready and ability to travel frequently to project sites within Afghanistan

Duties & Responsibilities

Scope of Work:

This project is designed to increase women participation in the economy by securing employment or advancing in their careers and with women-owned businesses or businesses that employ more women to grow their revenues. The workforce development component of the program helps female jobseekers from ages 18 and older secure new or better employment. The private sector development component of the program works with businesses that are women-owned or employ women to help them grow revenues. This project will contribute to recognize the need for qualified female teachers for private primary schools through provision of primary schools teacher training in Kabul Herat Kandahar and increase the employment ratio of at least 70% trained female teacher. The project will be implemented in two major components (1) Training and (2) Job placement throughout the project target locations including Kabul Herat and Kandahar provinces.


Key Responsibilities;

  • The master trainer at RSSAO will work under direct supervision of the National project manager and program team at RSSAO with specific duties and responsibilities as follow;

  • In close coordination with the relevant project team adopt the teacher training Curriculum.

  • Review the modules and adopt that for training days Class room hours/sessions for the total duration of the training program.

  • Adopt training modules in way to include Employment Related Service trainings in to the same module to ensure it’s not exceed total duration of the training program.

  • Develop training plans and provide provincial level trainers with a ToT to further cascade the training to the beneficiaries in the field.

  • Help trainers to develop and conduct pre and post-tests.

  • Ensure Training modules/ plans includes both theoretical and practical components. The practical component will include on-site classroom practical where students gain practical hands-on experience and improve confidence.

  • Develop training plans and provide provincial level trainers with a ToT session in Kabul to further cascade the training to the beneficiaries in the field.

  • Help trainers to develop and conduct pre and post-tests.

  • Help and support trainers on their daily activities

  • Maintain regular follow up of the teacher training courses through regular field visits technical follow ups and impact assessments

  • Ensure quality and better learning outcome  in  training classes through regular field visits technical follow ups and evaluations

  • Help provincial coordinators in assessment and evaluation of the effects of teachers training activities in classrooms

  • Assist the project manager in keeping the training and trainees data updated

  • Visit the training venues observe classrooms; give feedback after each visit to the provincial coordinators and project manager and make action plans for addressing issues identified during the visits. Keep proper written record of each visit.

  • Make ongoing assessment of learning of students on each visit and keep a record thereof.

  • Maintain close contact with the relevant Government departments of education in each province and liaise with other education actors particularly training institutions as well as the local education authorities with respect to capacity development activities.

  • Help and support provincial coordinator on key activities of the training program in the fields.

  • Help and support the project manager as required
