  • Bachelor’s degree in communication journalism social or political sciences or humanities or related discipline.

  • At least four years’ working experience in the related field

  • Past experience in writing press releases and material targeted at a variety of media outlets will be an asset.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word Excel etc.).

  • Good knowledge of English language (read write and speak).

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy and Campaigns

  • Work for maintaining positive public image of MEW CPMO.

  • Develop and carry-out the MEW’s communications strategy for ADB funded projects in conjunction with MEW’s Communications Department and the Central Program Management Office.

  • Initiate and plan targeted PR-campaigns through definition of goals & objectives analysing problems and opportunities liaising with MEW management CPMO staff and ADB counterparts;

  • Monitor the MEW’s image in the media in particular with its on-going projects;

  • Analyse and continuously evaluate the organization or campaign strategies;

  • Develop projects and provide input into project design to ensure integration of media dimensions;

  • Support the mobilization of resources to support campaigns and media work;

Outreach Products and Services

  • Establish and maintain contacts and excellent working relations with key journalist and key media representatives from newspapers magazines radio television web-based media and alternative and specialized media;

  • Assist journalist with developing stories feature articles productions and development of their capacity to report on water issues;

  • Prepare documentation for MEW/CPMO representatives going on missions and speaking to media;

  • Prepare media briefs press releases speeches and articles;

  • Prepare the production of publicity brochures hand-outs promotional videos photographs films and multimedia material;

  • Organize and co-ordinate press conferences press briefings interviews and media-events;

Development of Awareness

  • Plan promotional campaigns by identifying events target organizations and means.

  • Update promotional tools and provide stakeholders with appropriate information documents and tools for awareness;

  • Act as focal-point for all communications-related issues and collaborate with the Project Management Office to ensure excellent service to all stakeholders;

  • Keep up to date with projects’ activities for communications purposes;

  • Marketing track and measure campaigns by using a public relationship management model;

Water Forums

  • Provide support to production of Forums documents such as announcements brochures leaflets events etc.;

  • Establish close working relationships with the Forums Secretariats – Public relations Officer(s) and ensure a good co-operation on all media activities related to the Forums;

  • Co-ordinate on behalf of the MEW CPMO all media aspects of the Water Forums.

Administration and Management Support

  • Support CPMO and PIO staff that execute tasks in the field of communication and institutional matters;

  • Support to translations of MEW CPMO documentation;

  • Carry out administrative duties required to function within the Project Management Office;

  • Support the MEW CPMO Management Team in establishing a well-functioning organization.

  • And any other tasks that may be assigned by MEW Senior Management and the CPMO Director.

The above job description contains the main duties and responsibilities for this position. However due to constantly evolving priorities within the implementation of projects funded by the Asian Development Bank the candidate must be flexible in terms of allocation of complementary tasks.
