  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Information Management, Social Sciences, or other relevant academic field
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Ability to collect, analyze quantitative and qualitative data and develop comprehensive reports.
  • Fluency in Pashto and English.
  • Familiarity with MS. Office programs (MS. Work and MS. Excel).
  • Ability to travel to Kabul and different districts of Kandahar province.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant will be based in Kandahar province to support AREP in monitoring and evaluation of its activities and to ensure further efficiency and accountability. He/She will closely work with AREP, NSC provincial center, and NSC Project Manager at TAF and TAF monitoring and evaluation team to assess field conditions and facilitate the collection of quality data from the targeted schools in Kandahar province. The consultant will closely work with AREP to conduct evaluations, prepare comprehensive reports and follow up on the project indicators’ progress. He/ she will be hired for an initial period of three months and will work five days a week.
Duties and responsibilities
The Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant will be mandated to review the progress made by AREP/NSC in fulfilling the set objectives of the project; to monitor and evaluate all the project activities in Kandahar province; to assess the efficiency and effectiveness with which resources have been used to produce results and to develop monitoring and evaluation capacity among AREP and NSC employees in Kandahar province. More specifically, the consultant will have the following duties and responsibilities:
  1. Monitoring and evaluation

  • Monitor and evaluate all the activities conducted by NSC/AREP in the targeted schools of Kandahar province and identify strengths and weaknesses.
  • Conduct M&E initiatives for AREP including monitoring data quality and tracking progress of the project’s activities in Kandahar province.
  • Develop a detailed monitoring and evaluation plan for NSC/AREP activities in Kandahar outlining data collection, analysis and reporting tools and processes.
  • Perform field visits to schools at various districts and ensure that the trained teachers are using the new curriculum.
  • Perform field visits to various districts to ensure the quality of data gathered by the project and to verify the accuracy of the reported data.
  • Develop comprehensive monitoring and evaluation reports outlining project achievements, weaknesses and recommendations and highlighting corrective actions to be taken to tackle weaknesses
  • Recommend tools and strategies to increase program performance and results.
