Work Experience:2-5 Years

  • Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmacology from a recognized university or institute

  • 2-5 years of experience as a pharmacist

  • Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement chemical compounds medical brands etc.

  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Pharmacy information systems

  • Excellent communication skills with a customer oriented approach

  • Valid license to practice the profession

  • Good English language skills Computer skills

  • Flexible mentality

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assure a regular supply of all medical supplies/equipment to health facilities level and evaluate the pharmacy department activities in accordance to the organization Donors and other stake holder’s policy and regulations

  • Review and checking prescriptions to ensure that there are no errors and that they are appropriate dose and safe for the individual patient.

  • Providing advice on the dosage of medicines and the most appropriate form of medication for example tablet injection ointment or inhaler;

  • Ensuring medicines are stored appropriately and securely

  • Monitoring of lab reports for proper indication of antibiotics drug-drug interaction and duplication of same class.

  • Ensure timely delivery of medication to the nursing units or patient and hand over medication cassette.

  • Dispensing of medication to out-Patients and given related information to them

  • Answering questions about medicines from within the hospital other hospitals and the general public;

  • Ensure the accuracy of the label before dispensing for right patient right drug and right quantity.

  • Contact the physician for inaccuracy in prescription order proper documentation & communication of it to the nursing & pharmacy staff.

  • Provide drug and poison information to medical & Para medical staff.

  • Dispensing of controlled drugs. (in-patient pharmacy)

  • Monthly floor stock inspection for proper storage of drugs.

  • Accurate and timely completion of expiry drug list.

  • Patient counseling for Out-patient prescription and maintenance of cash.

  • Maintaining and collection of Pharmacy data and relating papers forms and documentation

  • Preparation and dosage changing

  • Receiving of medication from material management store

  • Inventory of medicines and reporting to Pharmacy coordinator or Head of Pharmacy

  • Checking of refrigerators temperature cleanness and item setting according to expiry date

  • Maintain full control over delivering stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration

  • Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice

  • Checking of refrigerators temperature cleanness and item setting according to expiry date 

  • Giving training for new staff

  • Presenting new information about medication

  • Giving training for clinical staff regarding medications

  •  Perform any other related task given by KOH.
