Work Experience:3 Years
  • Graduated Physiotherapist from Ministry of Public Health or Ministry of Higher Education recognized training department with 2-3 year diploma
  • At least 3 years working experience either in the physiotherapy centers or in the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Programme
  • Familiarity with the health system of the country, in particular on the availability and accessibility to physical rehabilitation services
  • Interest in working with victims of war through outreach and home based approaches to reach to those civilian victims who need physical rehabilitation, and willingness to travel to remote areas
  • Good communication skills in Pashto and Dari, and ability to write reports. Knowledge of English is an advantage
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Country to provide physical rehabilitation services to the victims whenever needed.

Duty Station: Kabul with travel to the central region provinces


Duties & Responsibilities


  • The Physiotherapist is responsible for the assessment, provision of basic physical rehabilitation services, referrals, follow-up monitoring including advice to the conflict affected civilian in need of physical rehabilitation, up to the full recovery and rehabilitation. This include the following obligations and responsibilities;

  • Visit to the communities and identifying of the conflict affected eligible victims in need of physical rehabilitation support

  • Coordinate with the physical rehabilitation service providers of the region, and make referrals for the victims to obtain services including physiotherapy, Orthopedic appliances and assistive devices

  • Follow-up monitoring of the referrals, and prepare progress reports to the Supervising Physiotherapist based in Kabul

  • Provide training for ACAPIII victim assessment teams on disability and physical rehabilitation related issues

  • Participate in sector coordination meetings, and represent ACAP III victim interest at regional forums

  • Actively engage in enhancing community awareness in physical rehabilitation programs and benefits

  • Provide any possible advices and support to the victims in need of health services, doctor consolation and any other medical interventions

  • Follow ethical and professional standards in carrying out all duties
