  • Bachelor’s degree in business/commerce logistics procurement or any other relevant fields.

  • Professional certifications (Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management degree) highly desirable.

  • Minimum 3-4 years of progressively responsible procurement and logistics experience.

  • Excellent command of the English language: verbal and oral.

Under the overall direction of the Procurement/Supply Chain Officer and in accordance with Cordaid policies procedures and practices the Project Procurement/Logistic Assistant is responsible for the planning and organizing of procurement and supply chain management of goods services and works of the project in accordance with Cordaid Financial Rules and its Procurement Policies and Procedures.



Functional Responsibilities




  • Coordinate the work of procurement and ensure the timely preparation of procurement plans for project implementation of proper monitoring and control of procurement processes including organization of RFQ ITB or RFP receipt of quotations bids or proposals their evaluation and negotiation of certain conditions of contracts in full compliance with Cordaid rules policies and procedures.

  • Ensure procurement is conducted in compliance with Cordaid’s procurement policy.

  • Plays an active role in the preparation of the seminars and workshops (i.e. hotel bookings & other logistical supports).

  • Doing contract administration and liaising with relevant program managers for better contract management.

  • Draft procurement memos and processing them for next procurement action

  • Locates and identifies potential vendors and suppliers both domestically and internationally

  • Prepares cost and benefit analysis form and participates in the selection committee.

  • Follows-up the activities and tasks undertaken by contractors as indicated in the signed service/procurement contracts or Purchase Orders

  • Ensures that Purchase Orders (POs) are duly prepared and dispatched & ensure timely corrective actions on POs with budget check errors and other problems.

  • Ensures adequate integration of supply chain management in project implementation.

  • Liaises with supply chain counterparts to ensure adequate planning for receipt storage and distribution of the goods.

  • Conducts cost/price quality and past performance/timeliness review of bids received.

  • Advise and provide technical support to partners and other counterparts on the development and implementation of the supply chain activities in a coordinated manner.

  • Ensures thorough review of procurement documents of field offices for next procurement action

  • Provide input related to project procurement for financial and other reports.

  • Regularly contribute to the development and introduction of innovation to ensure Cordaid is continually incorporating best practice approaches in Country Office operations.

  • Contribute to the dissemination and sharing of best practices and lessons learned for corporate development planning and knowledge building and contribute to relevant Communities of Experts and Communities of Practice accordingly.

  • At the request of his supervisor/Procurement & Supply Chain Coordinator and in collaboration with the Programme Lead plan implement and organize procurement and supply chain capacity building of project staff partners and other stakeholders.

  • Identifies procurement risks and undertakes mitigating actions in close cooperation with project team & procurement coordinator.

  • Conduct timely and proper preparation and updates of procurement plans for the project establish deadlines and monitor of their implementation.

  • Plays active role in inventory management and inventory verification of Cordaid Country office assets.

  • Ensures that all procurement files are accurately maintained both in hard and soft copies.

  • Ensures that each PR/PO is systematically recorded in tracking file.

  • Any other tasks assigned by line manager
