Duties & Responsibilities

Major responsibilities

  • Taking overall responsibilities of the project implementation

  • Ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with ORD standards policies and procedures and those commitments to donors communities and other program partners are fulfilled in a professional and timely manner.

  • Ensure the receipt and management of feedback and complaints through the CFM.

Specific duties

  • Establish and maintain good relations with government authorities local communities UN offices other NGOs and visiting delegations.

  • Constantly monitor the security situation throughout the province analyze implications for program and staff security and provide regular security reports to the Managing Director.

  • Closely monitor the implementation of all provincial activities in the field monitoring the quality of the interventions and ensuring that milestones and contractual obligations are being implemented. Follow up on delays and problems providing technical and managerial support as required.

  • Respond to queries from staff government donors and other stakeholders regarding the implementation of the program seeking advice and support from the project Manager and site Engineer when appropriate.

  • Check provincial program expenditure through monthly FIS reports following up on any discrepancies and authorize monthly cash requests to Head Office based on need and available funds.

  • Ensure that all staff in the province are kept informed f information and decisions relevant to the implementation of the provincial program.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with provincial staff to foster good communication cooperation and harmony within the team and promote individual and collective commitment to program quality.

  • Lead the provincial program staff in the preparation of annual work plans and budgets and assist the Project Program Manager and Site Engineer in compiling and re working these as necessary.

  • Visit all provincial program sites to assess progress quality of work and performance of the staff and provide information encouragement and technical advice as required.

  • Participate in the recruitment and technical appraisal of all provincial staff and advise the Project Manager on staffing needs.

  • Identify training needs of senior provincial staff particularly in the area of management and ensure that these needs are addressed through training exposure / exchange visits or mentoring as appropriate.

  • Schedule and chair internal provincial meetings and working groups and ensure that ORD is fully aware of and complies with provincial and district plans and policy.

  • Submit reports to main office also to the client as well
