Bachelor degree in Animal Science or Veterinary with 2 years of experience.
Training in any discipline of animal science / veterinary science related with livestock extension, Farmer field school (FFS) knowledge will be of an advantage.
Should have good communication skills in English, and local languages are essential.
Computer literacy, especially in MS Office software.
Excellent communication skills and being a good team player.

Duties & Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Livestock Extension Officer and overall supervision of the Livestock Coordinator, the Provincial Livestock Extension Officer will do the following;
Organize on site trainings for male and female livestock farmers mainly in Farmer Filed School (FFS) follow the seasonal calendar for conducting such trainings.
Collection of data on production and productivity, processing of livestock products, breed improvement, feeding, forage production/conservation, involvement of male and female farmers in management and marketing, of livestock products.
Conduct meetings with focus groups and make minute of such meeting.
Keep all the record of activities.
Reporting the activities on monthly basis.
Help female farmers to plan and implement the livestock activities.
Help to link the FGs with the service delivery organization such as Veterinary Field Units (VFUs) or any other animal health providers.
It is a filed based position. So, he/she should be ready to travel to field and conduct the meeting with livestock former groups (male and female).
Conduct filed demonstration and makes its reports.
Liaise with livestock processors/entrepreneurs:
Participate in stockholders meeting.
Monitoring of VFUs formatted groups and FFS meetings.
Focus on quality of work at provincial level.
Participating in monthly meeting in regional offices.
Collection of data and reports from VFUs and female agents and submission to the regional officers.
Convincing PAD (Provincial agriculture Director) and DAIL (District Agriculture Irrigation and Livestock) directorate on their filed activities.
