Work Experience: Master’s with 5 or bachelor’s with 7 Years
  • Master’s or its equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing and supervising staff.
  • Experience working in private sector development and/or experience as a business advisor/workforce development advisor preferred
  • Knowledge of business and financial operations strategic planning return on investment and risk mitigation
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder consultation working with professional associations and reaching consensus among multiple private sector stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural environment
  • Ability to lead strategic planning results-based management and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Proven leadership ability versatility and integrity with experience working with individuals in culturally diverse settings

Duties & Responsibilities

The Provincial Team Leader is responsible for the high-quality management of the WED Provincial Office. They will lead the Provincial office and surrounding satellite offices to ensure smooth and efficient technical and operational implementation. Key responsibilities include building strong relationships with the private sector business associations and government stakeholders in close coordination with the Kabul office.

  • Lead the Provincial Office and surrounding satellite offices providing technical and operational guidance and oversight.
  • Manage a team of 5-10 technical and operational staff in the provincial office and surrounding satellite offices.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance mentoring and problem-solving skills working in full partnership with the Kabul office.
  • Build strong relationships with the private sector business associations and government stakeholders in close coordination with the Kabul office.
  • Oversee the provincial work planning process and assist in the identification development and implementation of a wide range of grants-under-contract and technical assistance activities.
  • In partnership with the Kabul office work with key counterparts to identify priorities and resolve development and implementation challenges in a fast and effective way.  
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with the Kabul-based operations team to ensure compliance with USAID and other regulations on complex tasks and resolve issues and challenges in a timely and effective manner.  
  • Serve as a member of the senior management team contributing to team leadership decisions providing expertise on provincial program and strategy. 
  • Provide regular report outs of provincial and satellite office activities.
  • Work closely with the M&E Communications and MIS Team to share project data results and success stories.
  • Provide other duties as assigned by supervisor.
