Diploma/degree in psychology Public health or related field from reputed university

At least one year experience in similar position 

Fresh graduate from the relevant field are welcome to apply

Experience in mental health and psychosocial support is an asset

Experience in NGOs  is an asset

Good organization planning and reporting skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skill  

Good team interaction and positive attitude

Familiar with word excel Skype and email

English is an asset but fluent in local language(Pashto Language is essential)

 priority is giving to local (Field Staff)


Duties & Responsibilities

Objective 1: Participate in implementing psychosocial care practice integrated with nutrition health intervention:



Support the identification of psychosocial care needs of the mothers and care takers in the at Fatima Bayat Hospital TFU.

Assess the capacity or potential of psychosocial services within multi-sectoral response and contribute to improving  these psychosocial services in the health facilities with on and off site training



 



Objective 2: Improve and facilitate mother and child interactions attachments and relationships:



Creation of child and mother friendly spaces within TFU.

Conduct individual counselling for the mothers and care takers

Participate in real time evaluations of program implementation

Organize and direct sessions on breast-feeding practices IYCF and on child development 



Facilitate best practise of nutrition assessments including the appetite test



Objective 3: Contribute to the follow up of the beneficiaries’ care practices:



Identify the beneficiaries and attendants who need specialised attention (unusual behaviour aggressiveness isolation food refusal etc.)

Ensure that these persons are given support through interviews individual counselling and by referring them to the medical team in sensitive situations;

Inform the supervisor or psychologist of any information or observations made following an educational activity session;

Conduct stimulation sessions to all children and caretakers within Breast feeding corner.
