Certified in First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation for the professional rescuer by the Red Cross and / or other competent and recognized provider of this type of training

Minimum of 2 years of NGO/UN field (operations) experience and at least 1 years of field security experience
This position requires that the Response Security Officer spends 40 % of his/her time in the field. Accommodation is available in zonal offices. Accommodation in at field sites is provided by community networks.
This position requires regular road movements in field locations that often have no paved roads. The person should be physically capable of operating in challenging field environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
WORK CONTEXT / BACKGROUND:
The position is based out of the World Vision Afghanistan - National Office. The position holder is required to travel to field locations including high risk areas for assessments provide field programming support and conduct analysis for risk mitigation and implementation plans
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The RSO is expected to undertake predominately short to mid-term assessments as tasked by the NSM and contribute field informed analysis to wider strategic assessments led by the NSM. Coordination with Government entities UN agencies and other stakeholders will be tasked and in coordination with the to the NSM and Response and Operations Director. The RSO role will support response activities are conducted in a safe and secure manner including the provision of close field support to response teams travelling to field sites development of security briefs and maintenance of security documents and logistics support in high risk environments.
Note: The position requires frequent travels to WVA operation areas (Badghis Ghor Faryab Daikundi).
ROLE DIMENSION / DESCRIPTION
I. Updating WVI CSRs
Maintain up-to-date detailed instructions on precautions and emergency procedures.
Support the development of emergency response crisis management and business continuity plans that are in alignment with the National Office Security Plan and Core Security Requirements (CSR)
Maintain updated threat and risk analyses documents
Develop and oversee implementation of security systems and physical protection guidelines as well as fire and safety guidelines
Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of the staff phone tree
Develop and deliver appropriate response security-related briefings
Monitor and ensure compliance of project activities with requirements of the WV Security Management System
Coordinate security with partners and liaise with security stakeholders
Schedule appropriate drills to test and strengthen incident response procedures
Work with NSM to design review and update CSR.
II. Security Incident Management
Ensure coordination and implementation of all incident response procedures and guidelines
Ensure accurate reporting of incidents and follow up
Identify learning points after all incidents
III. CRISIS MANAGEMENT PLAN
Review Medical Evacuation Plan information and measures
Review protection measures for assets and equipment
Review external security support links
Coordinate with International Non-Governmental Security Organization (INSO)
Any other duties as tasked by the NSM in consultation with the Office of Corporate Security (OCS)
