Duties & Responsibilities
Line management for project staff
Adherence to NRC policies guidance and procedures
Contribute to the development of Country Area and Emergency/Shelter strategies initiate and participate in the development of relevant Emergency/Shelter projects
Coordinate and manage Emergency/Shelter project implementation (activities budget and project documentation) in line with proposals strategies and donor requirements
Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects
Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and the Emergency/Shelter Specialist.
Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection explore and asses new and better ways to assist
Develop and manage project budget (in cooperation with CCs) and coordinate across CCs
Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills
Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Establish a good working environment based on the NRC values;
In consultation with the Area Manager decide on employment of staff working in the team;
Ensure optimal use of human resources including promotion of team work and team spirit securing adequate training and promotion of talented staff;
Ensure that NRC staff adheres to NRC’s security rules and guidelines and that information sharing and consultation with the Regional Security Adviser takes place regularly;
Support train and develop the emergency/shelter team with a specific focus on technical skills
Prepare quantities and qualitative information for formulation of shelter/Emergency proposals.
Develop the CC strategy and maintain its implementation.
Prepare the project budget and track the project expenditures regularly
Prepare weekly monthly midterm and final reports of the projects.
Bring in innovation on shelter designing and implementation.
Any others tasks assigned by the Area Manager.
