Fluency in local languages and should be able to communicate in simple English. Excellent oral communication and presentation skills in local languages are required.

Duties & Responsibilities

The social organizer reports to the National Programme Manager and her responsibilities will be as follows;



  • Mobilize, interact, and dialogue with the individuals and small groups of selected communities to promote civic responsibility and sense of ownership.

  • Facilitate small and large community meetings to encourage discussions and thorough thinking by local communities for analysing their local problems and their local solutions.

  • Support local communities in conducting a through assessment of their vulnerabilities and capabilities and also resources available at their disposals.

  • Conduct awareness programmes in local communities regarding the benefit of mobilized and organized community and also advantages of community based institutions in the development of their own local area.

  • Facilitate the process of forming either common or separate male and female ‘Community Development Councils’ in each selected neighbourhood.

  • Work with local communities in preparing family and neighbourhood profiles in order to guide the decisions of development priorities at the local level.

  • Guide, support and facilitate all partner CDCs to prepare their neighborhood development plan through Community Action Planning process.

  • Encourage local communities at CDC level to do regular saving to support their own local needs and priorities.

  • Help partner communities in establishing strong networking and linkages with municipal district offices and other potential donor agencies, government, private and civil society institutions.

  • Identify the technical and training input required for the capacity building of CDCs and accordingly organize and support such activities on regular basis.

  • Prepare regular feedback and progress reports in relation to community mobilization process in the field.
